Project 2 Physical texture – assemblage and the reconnection of disparate parts

Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985) Dubuffet “advocated for “instinct, passion, mood, violence, madness”2 rather than analysis and reason, as well as closer proximity to nature and natural forms and the discarding of traditional notions of beauty. “Look at what lies at your … Continue reading Project 2 Physical texture – assemblage and the reconnection of disparate parts

Exploring Media: level 2 (HE5), second module

This is in effect a legacy module as the course is being re-vamped and reorganised. The last of the 60 credit courses at this level, it is in ‘teaching out’ mode until everyone enrolled on it has moved on. Hereafter, there will be three 40 credit units as there are at level 1 (HE4). Reading the course materials, it’s immediately obvious that the structure is completely different from previous modules. The Assignments are not specific to Parts but apply to progress through Options, of which there are four. We make a choice of two from these four but there is … Continue reading Exploring Media: level 2 (HE5), second module

Artivive in the wild!

Moving on

This unit is not due to be assessed until March 2022 but as time doesn’t stand still, I’ll be starting the next and final Level 2 (HE5) module in a day or so. Update: it’s August 2022 and how could I forget to update this post when I got seventy five percent for this module. That’s first, and also a First. Wow. Meanwhile, I’ve been cracking on with Exploring Media and submitting that for assessment during September with results due in December. Merry Christmas! You can find it here: Exploring Media. Village lane advent windows

This year, for the first time, our lane is doing Advent windows to raise money for extras for our local school. The way it works is that each of us – or as many as possible – in the lane ‘unveils’ a decorated window right up to December 24th and they all stay on till 12th night. Our lane is quite dark so lights stand out really well and for inventiveness, you can’t beat a 2L milk container stuffed with LEDs for cash collections. But we’re a bit of a cashless society now so what to do? Well, we’re trying … Continue reading Village lane advent windows
