Strange times, as they say. I’m lucky to have a garden because I’m likely to be confined to it for some while yet, but fulfilling some of the requirements of a Painting degree has been a challenge. Models/sitters? Exhibitions? Plein air landscapes? Not a chance so I’ve had to be inventive and the university has stretched every seam for all of us to deliver both course work and materials for assessment. These pieces; of various sizes, some on cartridge, some stretched canvas or unstretched Duck Cotton, and one on a piece of wood salvaged from the garden; were all produced during lockdown and will be going for formal assessment in November.
