Traced outline of George (who isn’t missing an ear) in watercolour pencil, wetted and applied to a canvas.

Added more water as the temperature in the studio was much higher than it had been for the Tallulah image. As before, I’ve pushed and pulled the free water under the tracing paper. This was left overnight.

26th July 2026. The outcome has the look of an fMRI of an unrestrained cat, assuming you set aside the three brains.

I saw an eye and made the mistake of adding some emphasis, which I immediately regretted. Luckily, watercolour pencil is quite forgiving in this regard. The image below is of the physical edit. I’ve no idea how that isolated patch of untouched canvas in the middle of the painting came about, but it’s quite a statement.

The following images are compensations for the camera’s tendency to create a blue cast where there is none. They’re not as good as I would like so there may be more attempts. I’ve also reduced the size on the page because, as per the Gestaltism, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The one below looks particularly moth-eaten.

Called this borborygmus yesterday. Refrained from adding the relevant sound track to the visual representation.
