This is my animation of my own original painting, now with a soundtrack that carries no copyright complications, being part my own recording of voices and part a music track clip from Freesound with a CC0 rating. The composer is Syntheway, whose catalogue contained a couple of bars of a waltz I could use to replace the one I’d had from Epidemic Sound and who wanted $2000.00 for it. This is not a sneer at musicians getting paid for their work; it was the assumption that I was going to make significant amounts of money from it via the book in which the AR embedded image would appear. They hadn’t factored augmented reality into their contracts, so had nothing to cover what I’m doing. I feel for the composer who was actually pretty excited at the idea of his music being directly activated from an image in a book.
